The left side of this building was built circa 1840 by Orlin Douglass, and it was originally a boarding house. It was later acquired by the Tower Family. In 1896, they expanded. The right half of the farmhouse was moved from several miles down the road and attached to this building so that the sisters-in-law, Steketee and Tower, could live together with their families. The house is part of the Tower Farm, where they grew watermelons as their main crop and sold them across the Lowell region. The house was fully restored in 2021 after being vacant for about 15 years. The left side of the house serves as our Farm Museum, while the right side is a private residence. Please be respectful of the occupants.
