North Country Trail

A trail runs through it

The North Country Trail passes through the village on property owned by the Fallasburg Historical Society. This hiking trail extends over 4,800 miles from North Dakota to Vermont, crossing Covered Bridge Road near Montcalm Avenue, running parallel to the road for about 700 feet before returning to the gravel roadway. An outhouse and hand pump for potable water are available near the Schoolhouse and a single, rustic, Leave No Trace campsite is available for reservations.

An auxiliary Loop Trail, indicated by white blazes, follows Covered Bridge Road across the river and into the hilly forest on the opposite bank before looping back and rejoining where the NCT crosses the river on McPherson Street. Fun fact, the North Country Trail Association’s national headquarters in located in Lowell, a short drive (or walk) from the Fallasburg Village.
