| We are cooking up some exciting plans for 2026 as we slow down for the winter, including the restoration of a blacksmith shop once owned by James Colvin, a local blacksmith. This photograph shows James Colvin in the middle and two unidentified men beside him. It is believed the shop was located somewhere between the Colvin house and the Flat River. A few documents also mention this location, including an old excerpt from a road commission document. Ideally, in 2026, we will begin the restoration process, starting with archaeology to ensure any cultural material is accounted for and protected during the rebuild. Stay tuned for more updates as we continue planning big things for the village. |
